Getting around to the beginning (Berlin)

Since I'm safe and sound in my room as all of the city goes out due to illness (I would get sick the first week, sigh), I decided I'd put up some photos from the beginning of Opening Tour aka mostly of Berlin. I only took around 1,500 photos on a 10 day trip. That's not too many is it?

Putting a break in case you don't want to have 60+ photos to load.

If the picture doesn't have a caption, it's likely I don't remember what it is, we went on about 500 tours in 10 days, information overload. Feel free to leave a comment if you have questions about anything!

The one photo I took in Paris, the first "stop" in Europe

All of the taxis were Mercedes Benz.

The Berlin Music Hall

That line of bricks is to commemorate where the Berlin Wall was.

European Union, German and Berlin flags.

Check Point Charlie, the most well known checkpoint from when Berlin was split after WW2
American side

Soviet side

America... in Berlin?

Wait, I'm not in the USA anymore right?

I really liked the architecture in Berlin

Holocaust memorial

Walking through the Brandenburg Gate

This is where Michael Jackson dangled his baby out a window & the most expensive hotel in Berlin

Darth Vader...

More Berlin Wall markers

German government building (parliament?), you can actually go to the dome if you make an appointment apparently.

Train Station that was built for the Women's World Cup I believe.

More architecture

Giant mall, that I did not go into.

Church on the right side of city hall

Church on the left side of city hall

Berlin's City Hall

Germany, home to T-Mobile. Yet my phone doesn't work...

Parts of the Berlin Wall which have since been painted

The Wall Jumper

Victory Column

Currywurst & Pomme frites. Delicious. Though the carbonated water was not.

Berlin's Jewish Museum

The Holocaust Tower, eerie but moving

Outside of the Jewish Museum which was designed by a famous architect who's name I forgot but the architecture was awesome.

I don't know what these are, they were outside the Jewish Museum

Metro Stop in Berlin

Waiting for the Metro

Cool design on the doors of the Metro

Berlin Wall Marker close up

Cool sign on the streets of Berlin

This was... interesting

Bears are the animal of Berlin so they had friendship bears (I think) on the street and this was one of them.

Where the German President lives, the flag on the top means he's at home.

Another church, I forget which one.

That is actually just a TV tower.

There are Dunkin' Donuts in Germany, but not on the west coast.

Another Berlin Metro stop

Berlin's mayor who has these billboards everywhere. Their first openly gay mayor.

Hopefully you enjoyed the pictures! This was just the first stop on Opening Tour.

I actually really enjoyed Berlin and Germany in general. I would definitely go back and visit again.

Even if my first interaction with a Berliner was being yelled at in German and English.
